| Philip Orr improvises life around his activities as composer, arranger, keyboardist, conductor, and
teacher. Frequently commissioned and recognized with a fellowship by the New Jersey State Council for the Arts and a 2009 ASCAPlus Writers Award, his compositions and arrangements
in a variety of genres integrate his checkered past in classical concert repertoire, traditional sacred music,
jazz, pop, gospel and rock styles, and have been performed and recorded in the US and abroad. The former
accompanist and sometime arranger for singers Vic Damone and Sandler & Young, his keyboard work encompasses
a broad array of styles in a variety of solo and ensemble roles in the NY/Philadelphia metropolitan areas.
The director of the Rider University Choir and Music Minister of Calvary Baptist Church in Hopewell, NJ, he has conducted choirs of all ages and abilities for 30 years. Mr. Orr serves on
the music faculties of The Lawrenceville School and
Westminster College of the Arts, from
which he holds degrees in Sacred Music and Composition.
